about

This is the break up song I wrote for my wife when I was wooing her. She loved it. Go figure :) We were married on 11/11/11 in Central Park NYC. So I am releasing it on 11/11/22 for our 11th anniversary! Yay us!

When I wrote this, I was right in the middle of the success of "Do Ya" being featured on the Californication Soundtrack. It has similar feels and features the same suspects, and the same Studio 1935 In South Philadelphia. Hope you enjoy it! If you do, please share on social media. I am releasing a music video for it soon, please subscribe to me on YouTube and click on the bell to get a notification when I drop it.

lyrics

Your eyes, they were hazel pools of light
That faded to blue to look like mine
But know that they've gone away
My eyes are a misty gray
And when I wake up, I'm greeted by

Second Hand Sunrise on my pillow
Second Hand Sunrise through my pane
Another faded morning here without you
These old dusty rays just ain’t the same

Your smile, like an angel left me blind
To seasons of sorrow and dark times
But now that they're here to stay
And I face another day
So lost here without you and haunted by

Second Hand Sunrise on my pillow
Second Hand Sunrise through my pane
Another faded morning, here without you
These old dusty rays just ain’t the same

My mind was an only demon child
Who was loved, who was reared by all your kindness towards me
My heart was a feral boy born wild
Who was loved, who was tamed by your sweet touch then set free

But now that you’ve gone away
My nights are a misty gray
And when I wake up, I'm greeted by

Second Hand Sunrise on my pillow
Second Hand Sunrise through my pane
I'm so lost and lonely here without you
These old dusty rays just ain’t the same
